Highclere Castle was never on my radar for places to visit in England until one of our clients mentioned they really wanted to tour the castle and gardens. Frankly, I had never heard of Highclere. If I had watched the BBC show, Downton Abbey, I would have known that Highclere is where this TV series is filmed, and that it had been closed due to filming and about to be reopened for tours. Emphasis on “about to be.” “About to be” meaning tickets were in high demand–everyone anxiously awaiting their release. They were “about to be” released any day now, and how to get those tickets for our client? Oh, the questions, when, where, how? The big question was, if they went on sale at 9:am in London, would it really be 3:am in our office?!? Yes, indeed! and…WE GOT’EM!
