Like everything else in life, travel styles ebb and flow from independent travelers to group travelers. Right now there seems to be a trend towards Small Groups (between 10 and 20.) For years everyone wanted to travel alone–staying away from the group trip stigma that “If its Tuesday it must be Belgium.” Certainly that is the way some groups are organized, but of course with Freedom Travel everything is customized–even Small Groups. My conclusion is that as we get older, we want to be pampered and while we can do everything ourselves, it is somehow more luxurious to have the nuisance of details eliminated on a vacation.
Here are 3 good reasons to consider Small Group Travel:
- It is easier to have an escort/group leader take charge. In this case you merely need to show up on time. With Freedom Travel, our Small Groups weave in a nice amount of free time, to allow the traveler to explore unleashed. This is especially true when you are a single traveler, or if the destination is a bit complicated, like Cuba, or Morocco or Vietnam.
- It is more fun to travel with friends and family. Many people come to me with a group of friends who all want to travel together, discover a new place, and make new memories. Most recently I arranged a “big” birthday trip to Cuba who wanted to celebrate with his friends.
- Traveling with a Small Group with similar interests can make discovering a new destination interesting and educational. I have seen this with a group of artists, pilgrimage groups, and a group of wine and food lovers.
